Welcome to the Control Laboratory website of the Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering at the American University of
Beirut. The Control Lab is located in the Raymond Ghosn Building,
in the second floor, Room 207.
In this laboratory students learn the fundamentals of control theory.
The lab has been lately upgraded with 10 state of the art control
stations each having NI Data Acquisition System, ELVIS Educational
station and Quanser DC Motor kit. The lab is also equipped by an
Inverted Pendulum Station and an HVAC control Station for research
and development purposes. The Lab contains also 9 stations with
Comdyna GP6 analog computers to realize and test different analog
controllers.
This lab is used for research in advanced control algorithms, industrial
and building automation. The related courses to this lab are: EECE460
- Control Systems, EECE660 - System analysis and Design, EECE662
- Optimal Control, and EECE665 - Adaptive Control.
