An introduction to vector forces and moments; equilibrium of rigid bodies in 2-D; free body diagrams; frames and machines; center of gravities and moment of inertia; design of trusses, beams; introduction to material properties; stresses, strains and their relationship; normal, shearing and combined stresses. The course also provides an introduction to indeterminate structures.
