Field Trips 2006-2007

Field trips were organized by the CEE faculty with the objective of exposing students to the real life experiences in the practical civil engineering world. Visits to the projects, offices, and plants (listed below) were also aimed at enhancing students learning in specific courses.

Hostler Center & Outpatient Clinic Building, AUB
Accompanying Faculty: Mr. Rami Jabakhanji
Course/Class: CIVE 200 (Introduction to CE)/ CE 2010 (1st year students)
Date: December 4-6, 2006
Aim:: To introduce first year civil engineering students to ongoing construction and rehabilitation works at AUB sites

Dar Al Handasah and Khatib & Alami (Office Visits)
Accompanying Faculty: Dr. Mounir Mabsout
Course/Class: CIVE 200 (Introduction to CE)/ CE 2010 (1st year students)
Date: December 4 – 6, 2006
Aim:: To introduce first year civil engineering students to engineering consulting offices in Beirut

Jamil Ibrahim Residential towers in Kraytem
Accompanying Faculty: Dr. Bilal Hamad
Course/Class: CIVE 421 (Concrete II)/CE 2008 (3rd year students)
Date: Spring 2007
Aim:: To expose students to site construction, supervision, and safety issues, phasing of project and construction details

Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport
Accompanying Faculty: Dr. Isam Kaysi
Course/Class: CIVE 461 (Transportation Engineering and Laboratory)/CE 2008 (3rd year students)

Aim: To familiarize students with air traffic control facilities at Beirut International Airport
