A total of nine non-academic staff members support the CEE department. The list includes the laboratories manager, the Environmental Engineering Research Center (EERC) research associate, five technicians of various ranks, the secretary of the CEE department, and the secretary of the CEE laboratories.

Mr. Helmi El-Khatib, the laboratories manager, oversees the proper functioning of all laboratories for the department. He directs the preparation of labs for educational sessions as advised by faculty; coordinates setup of required tools, equipment and materials; ensures testing of equipment; conducts service testing as requested by outside clients; controls the inventory of equipment and instruments; and maintains adequate stock of parts, components, and materials. The basic duties of the EERC research associate, Ms. Lucy Semerjian, are to prepare, maintain, and set up the environmental engineering laboratory for educational sessions, research and experimental work, and service testing, and supervise the labs operations. Both Mr. El-Khatib and Ms. Semerjian assist in planning budgets and ordering for major and minor equipment and laboratory supplies. The various technicians assist in the preparation of the civil engineering laboratories for educational sessions, experimental work, and service testing, in addition to doing the routine laboratory tasks and assignments.
