Structural Engineering: The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the American University of Beirut (AUB) invites applications for a faculty position in the area of Structural Engineering. Applications shall be entertained for a regular faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor.

Applicants for this position should hold a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering in the area of Structural Engineering. Candidates with research interests and/or professional experience in structural repair and rehabilitation, advanced construction material and smart structures, or sensing and monitoring, are particularly encouraged to apply.

The starting date for the position is September 15, 2010. Research, teaching and/or professional experience will be looked at favorably. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The successful candidate is expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the candidate’s field as well as fundamental courses in Civil Engineering, participate in program development, and be active in research. Applicants are expected to have a strong commitment to scholarly work and research that will lead to external funding and scholarly publications.
