The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture
at the American University of Beirut invites applications to fill faculty
positions in Chemical Engineering at all ranks, including visiting
appointments. Applicants are expected to have a commensurate record of
accomplishments and will be spearheading the establishment of a Chemical and
Petroleum Engineering Department at AUB.
Applications in all research areas will be considered, with
emphasis on candidates with expertise in both energy science and engineering.
Applications in the biomolecular and nanoscale systems, organic and molecular
electronics, reservoir engineering, and petroleum engineering, or related
fields will also be considered.
Applicants must have a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or in
a closely related field, preferably with postdoctoral or industrial experience.
At least one degree must have been earned in chemical engineering or
engineering chemistry. Applicants are expected to lead vigorous research
programs, teach, and advise students at both the undergraduate and graduate
levels.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The
proposed starting date for positions is in September 2009. Applications will be
accepted until all positions are filled.
