| In the summer of the
year 2004 Wing-B witnessed the completion of the last
phase of its renovation and a result the PCB laboratory
now has its own adequate space. The facility is currently
equipped with etching tanks, a through-hole station
as well a double layer UV exposure unit that allows
the production of double sided boards. During the spring
of 2005 the facility is expected to be upgraded by the
addition of a CNC Drill as well as an SMD soldering
disordering station that will greatly impact the capabilities
of the laboratory and will ripple through to affect
the quality of projects and research conducted. In the
coming years the laboratories equipment will be appended
by the addition of a multi layer press and a raster
plotter that will allow for the production of high density
multilayer circuit boards. Safety in the facility is
highly maintained due to the generous support and help
of the safety team at AUB which provided the laboratory
with all needed safety equipment: Eye-wash station,
Eye-shields, chemical gloves, and chemical spill kits.

The dry film roll laminator for simple and effective
laminating of rolls of Dry Film Photo resist to various
substrates. The units are particularly useful for
both printed circuit board production and the lamination
of dry film to brass, steel etc for metal etching
applications. Both sides of the substrate are simultaneously
laminated. The machines use accurate controlled temperature
and feed and automatically remove the polyofin separator
sheet of the dry film.
