Master of Mechanical Engineering, Major: Applied Energy

The Applied Energy Program at the Department of Mechanical Engineering is revived by the support of an EC project.

The Innovative Curriculum on Sustainable Energy (ICOSE) is a Joint European Project (JEP) funded by the European Commission's TEMPUS program. The goal of this project is to initiate and strengthen education in the areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency in buildings in order to graduate professional leaders in the field who can meet market needs of Lebanon in sustainable energy development, cleaner energy production, and efficient energy practices.

The specific objectives of the project are to:
- develop a master program with an appropriate laboratory component in renewable energy and efficient building technologies.
- stimulate students from different disciplines to join the program.
- engage faculty in the development of interactive instruction techniques for lectures and laboratory courses and sharing experiences with universities in the consortium.
- extend laboratory services and training in collaboration with the local and regional industry and community.
